ART FOR KIDS--AN
ARLINGTON TRADITION
In these classes
kids will build their skills in painting, drawing,
weaving, clay and sculpture; experience an art gallery
of modern artists; explore the elements of art; and
study great artists from the past.
Martha Sue Meek
is one of the owners
of the gallery and also displays her paintings at The
Gallery. A retired public-school art teacher, she
teaches and paints at The Upstairs Gallery
full time.
Elizabeth Broyles
displays her ceramic art in The Upstairs Gallery. She is
also a popular art teacher and art therapist at Scottish
Rite Hospital in Dallas.
Sam Hopkins
has taught children’s art for the city of Arlington and
is a
popular painter in her own right.

Sign up for one or
all of these classes .On the second Saturday of each
month Martha Sue will teach drawing and painting using
varied materials and techniques.
On the third
Saturday Elizabeth will teach three-dimensional art
techniques. Kids will recycle electronic junk into
fantastic sculptures, learn how to use tools to work
with wood, and create their own textiles. Elizabeth is
teaching on the dates in bold type.
