Charlie Kennedy
I was born in Tarrant County in 1950 and have lived here all my life. Drawing and painting have been important to me for as far back as I can remember. In the late 1980's, I became interested in the southwestern landscape and began to make drawings and later oil paintings of the topography and atmospheric phenomena of the Big Bend National Park and surrounding Chihuahuan Desert. More recently I have made paintings of the Gulf of Mexico and the high plains country of southeastern Colorado. Most everything I paint depicts emptied out space with minimal evidence of human encroachment. I like it quiet.
